Village Playhouse is a great place for actors to improve their craft, with outstanding directors and a variety of actors in each show.  You are often given the change to do things that you were not even sure you could do.  I have never been in a show here that I was not proud of.  Thanks!   ~ Scott

Volunteer Opportunities:

Board Members Needed for 2019-2020 Season

The Village Playhouse is accepting statements of interest regarding Board Membership for the 2018-2019 season.   

If you are interested in running for a position, please email info@villageplayhouse.org to declare your intent to run. Your email should have 2019-2020 Board as the subject line and include which position(s) you’d like to run for, along with a paragraph about why you would be a good candidate for the position.

Candidates will be voted on at our General Membership Meeting (July 20th, 2019).  All terms are 1 year (except President-Elect, which is a 3 year commitment), running from August 2019 through July 2020.

Board Membership Requirements:

Active Member — Must have participated in at least one production during the 2018-2019 Season.

Current Member — Must be current on membership dues (Dues can be paid that the General Meeting)

Leadership Role — Must be willing to take on a leadership role within the group, such as chairing a committee or producing a play.

Board Meeting Attendance — Must be willing to attend monthly board meetings.  Typically, the meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Sunday of the Month, with the time and date confirmed at the meeting prior.   Any board member who misses 3 meetings can be removed from office, at the Board’s discretion.

Open Board Positions:

Vice-President —  Takes the place of the President in the President’s absence.  Chairs at least one committee (either Membership, Volunteer or PR, as decided at the August Board Meeting).

Treasurer — Keeps the books for the theater, makes a monthly reporting of all income and expenses.  Co-Signs checks with the President.   Must have an accounting/bookkeeping background.   

Secretary — Keeps minutes of all board meetings, sends any correspondence on behalf of the theater.

President-Elect — Assists the President, performing duties as delegated in preparation of being the President for the 2019-2020 season.   This is a THREE YEAR term — one year as President-Elect, one year as President, one year as Past President.    (President and Past President are not up for election as the roles will be filled by the current President-Elect and current President)

Member-At-Large — Members at Large form the rest of the board.  There can be as many as are elected at the General Membership Meeting.  Each Member-At-Large must be willing to chair a committee, produce a play or otherwise act in a leadership role within the group.
